Learn to Save a Life
Suicide Prevention
Larry McNabb, will be the guest
speaker at the February PTU meeting. He will
present the QPR training. QPR stands for Question,
Persuade, and Refer -- 3 simple steps that
anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.
Just as people trained in CPR and the
Heimlich maneuver help save thousands of lives each
year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the
warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question,
persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year
thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to
save the life of a friend, family member, colleague,
or neighbor. QPR can be learned in as little as one
hour
The business part of the meeting will
take place between 7-7:30 p.m.; the training will be
presented from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
We want to make sure that we have
enough materials for each person in attendance.
To help us in this preparation we ask that you let us
know if you plan to attend. Either contact
Katie Miller, BBHS Administrative Assistant via phone
at 635-2108 or email Brian Kinne, School Counselor at
bkinne@covingtoncharities.org.
