The Academic Team finished runners-up at the JV Challenge on Saturday, November 7, nearly toppling giant Campbell County. Our freshmen and sophomore academic team players competed remotely and virtually.
With ten individual medal winners, we posted perhaps our best ever performance in the event.  Those medalists include:
Michael Tomes:  Section 10 Champion in both Language Arts and Arts and Humanities.  He also led the quick recall team to a 2nd place finish.
Cora Bertsch:  Section 10 Champion in Mathematics, second in Composition, and sixth in Science.
Miranda Csordas:  Second place in Science.
Alex Gulley:  Third place in Language Arts and sixth in Arts and Humanities.
Jacob Crowley:  Fourth place in Social Studies.
Chloe Hein:  Fifth place in Composition.
When the dust settled and the points were tallied up, we finished overall runners-up, trailing champion Campbell County by less than three points, 57 to 54.33.  This was an incredible performance by our small squad of ninth and tenth graders. Many people went above and beyond the normal expectations to make this event run smoothly and such a success under these unprecedented circumstances.
Congratulations to all!
