On Saturday night, September 21 the Centerville, Ohio Cross Country Invitational lived up to it's reputation of being the most exciting cross country meet of the season. The exciting atmosphere was created with the finish line on the football field, the stands packed (yes, the stands were packed for this meet), multi-colored lights everywhere and teams from four states participating.
Our Lady Stangs were ready to race. They were flying around the course in record-breaking speed. Amy Klocke, with a time under 20 minutes, became the fastest Brossart runner ever on the Centerville course. Claire Curtsinger and Maria Kocke both ran outstanding season-best times. All other varsity runners were just flying at the finish.
Thy finished one after another in quick succession. They were Natalie Reis, Cora Bertsch, Emma Bezold, Madison Wittrock, and Lily Schultz.
This great team effort allowed the Lady Stangs to beat 25 other teams in the race which included every team from Kentucky.
Great job Ladies!
