First Regional Championship - The 1988 regional championship team was Brossart’s first regional championship in any girls sport. Consecutive Individual Championships – Both Shannon Horan and Katie Neiser were regional champions three years in a row in both the 100 and the 200. Shannon won in 1992, 1993, and 1994. Katie’s wins came in 2006, 2007 and 2008.Only two other Brossart athletes have won individual championships in one event in three consecutive years, they were; DeAnn Schroeder in High Jump(1986, 1987, 1988) and Lisa Ruth in Triple Jump (2004, 2005, 2006) Consecutive Champions – From her freshman season to her senior season Erin Enzweiler was part of the winning 4 X 200 and 4 X 400 relays. She is the only Brossart runner to win four consecutive regional titles in two events.Only three other runners have won four regional championships in a row, they were; Sarah Smith in the 4 X 200 relay , Stephanie Clark in the 4 X 400 relayand Stephanie Waters in the 4 X 200 relay. Four Individual Gold – In 1999 Cheryl Gerde became the only Brossart athlete to win four individual events in a regional meet. Cheryl won Long Jump, Triple Jump,100 Meter Hurdles and 300 Meter Hurdles Four Gold Medals In One Regional – Besides Cheryl’s four individual gold medals two other Brossart runners have won four gold medals in one Regional Meet. However, in both cases two of the wins were in relays. In 1988 Renee Perkins won the 400 Meters,100 Meter Hurdles, 4 X 200 Relay and the 4 X 400 Relay. In 2003 Tara Sanker won the 200 Meters, 400 Meters, 4 X 200, and 4 X 400. Several runners have won three events in one Regional Meet. Best Event ??? – Brossart has won the 800 Relay (4 X 200) 14 times since 1988, including 10 years in a row from 1995 to 2004. High Jump has been the best individual event with 10 first place finishes. Most Different
